How we measured this, and what it cannot prove
Why a second pass has to be independent
In a controlled study of data entry, checking by eye was no more accurate than not checking at all, while independent double entry left roughly 30 times fewer errors (Barchard and Pace, 2011). Field audits of real business spreadsheets found errors in 24% of 367 spreadsheets, and in at least 86% of those examined in the most recent, more rigorous audits (Panko). DecodingPro's double-check is built the same way: an independent second pass that compares the finished file against your original, not a second glance.
What it can and cannot prove
We cover completeness, validity, uniqueness and consistency. Whether a value matches the real world or is still current cannot be proven from a file alone, so suspicious values are flagged for you instead of being certified. DecodingPro cleans and checks data you already have; it does not read scans or PDFs.
Internal benchmark, September 2026: 90,000 synthetic rows with 64,738 planted errors, cleaned in about 10 seconds. Nothing was changed wrongly and every problem that needs a person was flagged. 90% of keystroke typos were corrected automatically and the rest were flagged. 332 real but look-alike values (such as Milano next to Milan) were left untouched. Real spreadsheets are messier, so results will vary. Fixes the rules are very sure of are marked "please glance" in the Review sheet of your file.

What can DecodingPro clean?
Names and capitalisation, stray spaces, mistyped email domains, phone numbers (into international format), mixed date styles, broken accents and duplicates. Anything it cannot be sure about is left untouched and listed for you.
Will it change my data without telling me?
No. Every change is logged, the finished file is re-opened and compared with your original before delivery, and a notes column lists every cell that needs your attention. Rules do the typing; AI is only a second opinion on doubtful cells, and on paid packs independent AI models must agree before a fix is applied. A proper date such as 03-05-24 is read the way the rest of your column is written; if nothing in the file settles day-first or month-first it stays exactly as written, and impossible dates such as 30 February are flagged for you, never guessed.
How does pricing work?
One credit cleans one row. You start with 100 free credits, then buy a pack when you need more. Credits never expire and there is no subscription. Purchases are final, so try the free credits first. Buyers in India pay in rupees (UPI, cards, net banking); everyone else pays in US dollars with PayPal or a card.
What happens to my file, and what are the limits?
Your file is processed automatically on our server and is not used for anything else. We do not keep your original upload, and the cleaned file is deleted after 30 days. If a job cannot be completed, your credits are returned automatically and your original is never modified. Files can be Excel (.xlsx, .xls) or CSV up to 25 MB, roughly 50,000 rows; a bigger sheet can be split into parts at the same total cost, or email support@decodingpro.com.
